ZHAOQING, China – The Changan Ford Racing Team recorded a dominating win on the sixth stop of the 2013 China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) in Guangdong, grabbing the top three places to extend its lead in the manufacturer’s standing to 25 points.
Despite challenging weather conditions brought on by Typhoon Usagi, Changan Ford Racing drivers put on an amazing performance on the track, with Jiang Tengyi, Andy Yan and Rainey He finishing first, second and third, respectively.
Known for its sharp curves, the Zhaoqing International Circuit was a perfect testing ground to demonstrate the new Ford Focus racing car’s overall performance, including handling, chassis and power.
“I really want to thank the team for their hard work. It was not an easy win given the unpredictable weather but the team made adjustments to our new Focus cars to make sure they were all in the best racing condition for the circuit,” said Jiang Tengyi, who also posted the fastest lap in both qualifying and the race.
With only two stops before the final round of the season, Changan Ford Racing is in a strong position to compete for both the manufacturer’s title and the driver’s title.
The seventh round of the CTCC will kick off in Zhuhai, Guangdong on October 13.
