BEIJING, China —Students from eight renowned Chinese universities battled it out during the eighth automotive-themed debate contest hosted by Changan Ford (CAF), Ford’s joint venture in China.
After an arduous series of rounds during which the students engaged in lively and informative debates over current automotive-related issues, the University of Technology Beijing claimed the title, the “2013 Changan Ford Cup China College Auto Union Campus Line.”
The eighth annual competition was held at Renmin University of China.
Besides the competition, students were invited to join events held for the first time — a short film screening, script collecting and Campus Auto Fiesta, an exciting event which allows students to get first-handed experience with the popular Fiesta.
“Changan Ford is committed to helping students who are enthusiastic about the auto industry by providing them with a platform where they can get close to the industry and its culture and realize their dream,” said Marin Burela, President and CEO of Changan Ford.
To make the event both educational and fun, CAF introduced Ford Driving Skills For Life (DSFL) to the campus. It gave more than 10,000 students an opportunity to learn more safety and fuel-saving driving tips.
“Changan Ford will continue to support important events and campaigns that benefit the public and strive to contribute to the promotion and development of China’s auto industry and the training of new and existing auto talents, and to live up to its commitment to China’s sustained development,” added Burela.
