Changan Ford Brand Day Offers More than Just a Test Drive

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

CHANGZHOU and NANCHANG, China — Journalists attending the 2011 Changan Ford Brand Day got more than just a chance behind the wheel of the powerful Mondeo-Zhisheng GTDi – they also got tips on safe and fuel-efficient driving practices.

As part of this year's Changan Ford Brand Day events in Changzhou and Nanchang, journalists were put through Ford's award-winning Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) programme, which seeks to improve safety on the road while encouraging environmentally friendly driving techniques.

In Changzhou, 18 journalists from Shanghai, Nanjing and Changzhou took part in a 43-km test drive from the Fuerte dealership to Changdang Lake following their DSFL lesson. During the drive they put their newly-learnt skills to practice, while at the same time getting a feel for Ford's powerful fleet, including the Mondeo-Zhisheng GTDi.

In Nanchang, Changan Ford Brand Day kicked off with a speech by Zhou Yongbo, sales manager from the Changan Ford Fuxiang dealership, followed by the DSFL training. Journalists then set off on a drive from the Fuxiang dealership to the Southern Rocky Mountains Migratory Bird Conservation Area, a national nature reserve close to Poyang Lake. The 115-km drive gave journalists the opportunity to test the Ford vehicles on different road conditions, including urban, provincial, and rural. They were impressed by the outstanding performance of the cars, and gave high praise to the DSFL programme.

"The Mondeo-Zhisheng GTDi really delivers excellent driving performance. The chassis is solid, which deeply impressed me. In addition, it is comfortable for both the driver and passengers," said Shi Yulin, who participated in the event.

Jie Ting from Jiangxi Traffic Radio enjoyed the DSFL programme, saying: "DSFL is really an informative activity. I have learnt practical safe driving skills and it has helped me develop greener driving habits."

Both events were broadcast on Changan Ford's official micro-blogging site, where netizens expressed a great interest in the DSFL programme and a desire to participate when it is offered in their own cities.
