MONTREAL - Montreal is like no other city on earth. What truly makes Montreal special is its people and their joie de vivre – their joy of life and its many pleasures. And because Montrealers love to celebrate, it has become a city of dazzling events and festivals. Ford of Canada has been part of life in Montreal, and in the province of Quebec, since the beginning of the Canadian auto industry and we share their passion in celebrating all the things that make life special. At the Montreal Auto Show media preview we celebrated design, luxury and innovation, as well as our partnerships with events and fundraisers that are deeply important to Quebecers.
Mathieu Charlebois, Regional Sales manager, Quebec Region, Ford of Canada, set a tone of invigoration and creativity with his greeting at the Lincoln press conference.
“Welcome to the next chapter in the reinvention of the Lincoln Motor Company. After catering to luxury customers for more than 90 years, Lincoln is undergoing a bottom-to-top brand reinvention to become a true premium segment competitor, ” said Charlebois. “ We are committed to creating an entirely new range of stunning and compelling vehicles and a highly personalized ownership to match.”
As a demonstration of Lincoln’s renewed vigour in product development, the silks were removed to unveil the new 2013 Lincoln MKZ and MKZ Hybrid, a vehicle that is truly unique from every angle. From its elegant, long sweeping roof line and fully retractable panoramic roof to its interior spaciousness and class-exclusive Push Button Shift, this vehicle is a celebration of luxury.
Who, or what, took to the stage next was not a vehicle or a person for that matter – the media loved being greeted by Henri The Robot as they settled in for the Ford presentation. With a high-energy Ford Fiesta video to get the crowd revved up, Bert Lessard, general manager, Quebec Region, Ford of Canada, joined Henri to greet the crowd.
“The all-new 2014 Fiesta redefines what a small car can be,” said Lessard. “Fiesta is loaded with a dazzling array of features and technology that proves small is smart.”
The small car market is an incredibly important one in the province of Quebec, and it’s exciting that the 2014 Fiesta will, in fact, be the first vehicle available with Ford’s award-winning 1.0 Litre EcoBoost engine, which is expected to be certified as the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid car available in North America.
2014 Ford Fiesta is a result of our “Allons plus loin” (Go Further) promise. “Allons plus loin” also compels us to play an active part in our community. We are pleased to partner with a wide range of organizations and festivals including: Montreal Canadiens, Les Francofolies de Montréal, Festival d’été de Québec, Festival F1 sur Crescent and Festival Western de St-Tite.
Lessard went on to tell the crowd that our “Allons plus loin” promise and approach to everything we do has helped power us to sales leadership. From Built Ford Tough trucks, to ultra-efficient all-electric technologies, to our smart technology and fuel sipping EcoBoost engines, our promise to “Allons plus loin” means offering customers the power of choice.
Saving the best for last, Lessard went on to introduce a perfect example of the power of choice, the 2013 Ford Fusion, offering the widest ever portfolio of fuel-efficient powertrains including EcoBoost, hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines, automatic and manual transmission offerings, plus auto start stop technology. The Fusion Energi made its Quebec debut at the show.
To sum up, Lessard concluded, “Ladies and gentleman, ‘Allons plus loin’ is our promise to you and consumers across Canada to continue to be the best automotive company we can be, to continue to play an active part in our community, and continue to create exciting new products with outstanding value, terrific fuel economy and great performance.”
