Canadian-Built Ford Edge Sales Up in January

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

OAKVILLE, Ont. – Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. is looking forward to an exciting year with 16 vehicle launches in North America in 2014, including the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 and Mustang, triple the number of vehicles launched in 2013. In January, Canadian-built vehicles Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX and MKT enjoyed a strong month. Ford of Canada sales were down 10 per cent in January.

Sales of the Oakville-built Ford Edge increased seven per cent in January. The Edge Concept, which will be showcased to Canadians at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto this month, features a sleek and sporty exterior, bringing tomorrow’s technology today, including a push-button and remote-operated parking feature customers could use from either inside or outside the vehicle.

“Coming off a record year as the top-selling manufacturer in the industry for the fourth consecutive year, we’re entering 2014 even more focused on going further for our customers by delivering leading-edge vehicles that our customers want and value, as well as partnering with our dealers to deliver a superior customer experience from purchase to service,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “We’re excited for what the year holds. We’ll introduce Canadians to an exciting line-up of all-new Ford vehicles, including the Ford F-150 and Mustang.”

Lincoln sales rose 73 per cent in January, driven by the Oakville-built Lincoln MKX and MKT jumping 51 per cent and 71 per cent respectively. This was the Lincoln MKT’s best January on record. Sales of the Lincoln Navigator also increased 25 per cent.
