VALENCIA, Spain - The important role that suppliers will play in the success of the new C-MAX was emphasised last week in Valencia, when Ford of Europe's Purchasing team met with leading European suppliers.
In addition to Purchasing executives, the meeting was attended by Manufacturing and Launch personnel.
Delegates were informed of the model's production and programme strategy and anticipated build dates.
The supply strategy, the meeting was told, was based on three pillars:
- swift and rapid communication between suppliers and Ford
- discipline on compliance with processes
- maximum priority regarding problem solving
These elements were described as being the key to ensuring that the first vehicles exceeded customer expectations and drove increased sales.
