DEARBORN - Yesterday, Ford F-150 Marketing Manager Brian Bell fielded a wide range of questions in a live chat on Edmunds.com about the all-new 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor.
Bell has worked on the F-150 team for six years and is a true truck enthusiast. He’s also known as the father of the F-150 Tremor.
The first question was about horsepower and a release date.
“The Tremor will produce 365 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque,” said Bell. “The release date will be later this fall, but our order banks are opening very soon. Definitely watch out for that.”
If you were curious about the inspiration behind Tremor, you aren’t the only one.
Bell said the look was inspired by the success of the FX Appearance Package married to the sporty nature of a short-box regular cab.
“I really love the flat black 20-inch wheels,” he said.
The Tremor will be available in seven colors: Race Red, Blue Flame, Tuxedo Black, Sterling Grey, Ingot Silver, Oxford White and Ruby Red.
One participant wanted to know how fast the Tremor can go.
“We are confident the Tremor will do 0 to 60 mph in less than 6.5 seconds – a speedy truck,” said Bell.
He also shared the reasoning behind why the company is doing the truck and how it relates to the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor.
“We have a lot of requests from customers asking for a short regular-cab EcoBoost-powered truck,” he said. “This fits the bill perfectly. Raptor is a very successful off-road truck built by SVT; Tremor will fill the need in the marketplace for a sporty street-truck.
“We know Tremor will meet that need.”
