SAO BERNARDO -- Ford Focus and Ford EcoSport are highlighted in the October edition of Quatro Rodas Magazine, Brazil's most influential, specialized car publication. Each vehicle was recognized against the competition in the article.
The new Ford Focus Sedan was named the best pick out of seven vehicles, all midsize sedans with automatic transmissions. “The Focus is the model that combines the best qualities compared with its competitors and deserves a space in your garage,” says the article.
Since Focus’s launch, Brazilian media has conducted a number of comparative tests on the car and, in most cases, the Focus was the overall winner, with more than 18 comparative victories to date. Some of these were based on specific tests that separately evaluated the car’s attributes such as transmission, design, drivability, modernity, etc.
The October Quatro Rodas also has the Ford EcoSport facing the stiff competition of the just launched Kia Soul and Cherry Tigo. Although the EcoSport is a 2007 launch, the small SUV had the best performance during the test, and thanks to Ford quality and cost benefits, took the top spot in the comparative test.
First-launched in 2003, creating a new segment in Brazil (of small SUVs) and face-lifted in 2007, the EcoSport has been a successful sales leader in its category and represents Ford’s turnover mark in Brazil.
Ford has a complete lineup of vehicles in Brazil that extends from compact models, like the Ford Ka, to heavy trucks, such as the Ford Cargo, which makes Brazilian media look forward to each launch of a Ford model.
