VALENCIA – Through Nov. 15, attendees to the XII edition of the "International Auto Show in Bogotá" will discover first hand how Ford is redefining the present and future of the automobile.
For the first time at Colombian Auto Show, Ford has its own space (1,159 m2), with a central theme that illustrates the four pillars of the brand (quality, sustainability, safety and innovation). Taking inspiration from the new design language applied to their vehicles (Kinetic Design), the show floor provides the public an enjoyable modern space, with vibrant colors and fluid shapes, and also includes a role for iPods in the entertaining briefings.
The vehicle portfolio was presented by Luz Elena del Castillo, general director, Ford Colombia, and Jorge Vivas, manager, Marketing and Sales. They also were accompanied by Luis Salem, director, Marketing and Sales, Ford Andina and Salvador Lo Cascio, manager, Marketing, Ford Andina.
The most important product at the Ford stand is the new Fiesta, in both Sport and Hatchback versions, in its official debut in the Colombian market. The Fiesta boasts a 1.6-liter engine, 120 horsepower, a level of equipment above the standard for its segment at a competitive price. Also, the new 2011 Edge, Limited and SE versions, shines on the auto show campus. The Edge is notable for being the first crossover 'touch' of the market, and because of its high technology offering, includes MyFord Touch, which allows control of all electronic devices, through the use of a touch screen on the instrument panel, in addition to voice activation (SYNC).
Also formally presented on the Ford stand was the new version of the Escape SUV, equipped with 4x2 and automatic transmission, and the EcoSport, with the same configuration. Together these vehicles constitute the versions of the Ford family in this vehicle segment, representing versatility, power, excellent fuel consumption and attractive pricing.
Also available to the public at the Ford display is the current brand portfolio, with sound design and engineering solutions for different tastes and needs, like the Explorer, F-150 and Ranger 4x4 diesel. And finally, complementing this sampling of advanced technology is the premiere exhibition of the legendary Mustang GT, the F-150 SVT Raptor pickup, and the ultra modern Fusion Hybrid, equipped with electric and gasoline engines.
