OAKVILLE, Ont. – Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. experienced the best February on record for Ford Fiesta and F-Series. Overall, sales remained consistent with last February.
Sales of the Ford Fiesta were up 19 per cent and Mustang sales rose 79 per cent, after recently being unveiled.
“This year, we have the most aggressive product launch schedule in our history, with 23 vehicle launches globally, 16 of which will be in North America,” said Dianne Craig, President and CEO, Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd. “After the Canadian unveilings of the all-new 2015 Mustang and F-150, as well as announcing that the next generation Edge will be built right here in Oakville, we are thrilled that the excitement surrounding our brand is resonating with our customers.”
The Expedition, Explorer and Oakville-built Edge all increased, by 89 per cent, nine per cent and 19 per cent respectively, rounding out a 14 per cent increase in SUV/CUV sales. Ford Escape sales also jumped 14 per cent last month in the fastest-growing segment, small utility.
Truck sales increased four per cent in February, driven by an eight per cent increase in F-Series sales, its best February on record. Sales of the Ford E-Series rose 21 per cent.
