BARCELONA, Spain - The all-new B-MAX will be unveiled later today by Ford Motor Company executive chairman Bill Ford. However, while most new vehicles debut at motor shows, the B-MAX will make its first public appearance at a key technology event, the influential Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The choice of venue emphasises the fact that the new compact Multi-Activity Vehicle will be one of Europe’s most technologically-advanced small cars.
“The B-MAX is going to be a game-changer in the European compact family vehicle segment,” said Stephen Odell, chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe. “No other vehicle in its class offers such an attractive combination of style, versatility and technology.”
Among its many high-tech features, B-MAX heralds the European introduction of SYNC, Ford’s voice-activated in-car connectivity system boasts extensive device compatibility and voice command in many European languages.
An important SYNC feature being introduced in Europe in the B-MAX is Emergency Assistance, which alerts local emergency services operators after an accident, in the correct language for the region. It is the most advanced system of its type and will be available in more than 30 countries across Europe and beyond.
In additional to unveiling the new B-MAX, Bill Ford will also deliver the keynote address at the World Mobile Congress, the first automotive leader to do so. He will use the occasion to outline Ford Motor Company’s vision for smart transportation and the need for the development of intelligent vehicles and transport systems.
