Another golden award for Ford Vietnam

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

HANOI, Vietnam – Ford Vietnam was among 85 enterprises, chosen to nearly 1,000 candidates, to be presented with the "Vietnam Golden Foreign Direct Investment" award from the Ministry of Planning and Investment and Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister, Nguyen Thien Nhan, and the Ministers of Planning and Investment and Industry and Trade presented the Golden FDI awards to the winning enterprises at the Opera House Hanoi.

Award winners were considered on a wide range of criteria, from excellence of business operations to strength of employee relationships, contributions to government budgets, protecting the environment and investing in new technologies. Ford Vietnam was selected for its development, application, investment and transfer of advanced technologies in automotive production.

Designed to encourage foreign investment in Vietnam, as well as recognize Vietnamese investors who have contributed substantially to the domestic economy, the awards program creates opportunities to network, share solutions for current issues and provide more effective operations for investors.

FVL recently completed a new assembly line in Hai Duong province in March 2009. The assembly line engages a robotic system to perform “Robot Assisted Plasmatron Welding” for efficient and effective joining between the vehicle’s bodyside and roof.

Ford’s well-qualified engineers appointed to manage the new assembly line were trained in the highly acclaimed Robot Training Centre in Malaysia. Ford Motor Company’s engineering experts and consultants also provided necessary guidance to ensure the timely and optimum function of the new assembly line.
