HANOI, Vietnam — Ford Vietnam revealed the highly-anticipated all-new Ford Focus at the eighth Vietnam Motor Show, taking place from Sept 27 to Sept 30 in Hanoi, giving Vietnamese their first glimpse of the stylish global vehicle at the Ford stand – including a four-door Ingot Silver Focus 2.0L Titanium+ and a five-door Candy Red 2.0L Focus Sport+ that have taken centre stage
Matt Bradley, president of Ford ASEAN, attended the kick-off of the Show, helping Laurent Charpienter, managing director of Ford Vietnam, unveil the next-generation Focus to more than 100 media on press day.
The all new Focus is the next of eight all-new global One Ford vehicles the company plans to introduce to ASEAN markets by mid-decade, helping support its aggressive expansion plans for the region. Ford will begin assembling the all-new Focus in Vietnam at its Hai Duong plant at the end of this year.
“The all-new Ford Focus underscores our commitment to providing Vietnamese customers with outstanding vehicles that are segment-leaders in quality, fuel efficiency, safety, smart design and value,” said Bradley. “The next generation Focus is packed with class-leading features and innovations designed to put the fun, comfort and excitement back into driving.”
In addition to the all-new Focus on the Ford stand, visitors will have the opportunity to experience two of the vehicle’s class-leading smart technologies in a special area designated for the “Start it. Share it. Win it” (SISIWI) pre-launch campaign for the all-new Focus. These include Active Park Assist, which allows the Focus to parallel park itself, and Active City Stop which automatically applies the brakes at low speed if sensors detect an obstruction in front of the car and the comfort of its interior.
The all-new Focus will also give show attendees their first experience with the award-winning, hands-free and voice-activated Ford SYNC® in-car connectivity system, which allows drivers to connect their mobile phones or digital media players to their all-new Focus via Bluetooth® and USB connection.
“Our investment in a new global mid-size car platform is enabling us to provide Vietnamese consumers with an affordable car that offers value that is clearly unmatched in its segment,” said Charpentier.
Joining the all-new Focus on the Ford stand at the Vietnam Motor Show is Ford Vietnam’s full line-up of vehicles, including the expanded range of its class-leading all-new Ford Fiesta, which was launched in May 2011, and the full range of class-defining all-new Ford Ranger pickup, which was officially launched in Vietnam in July 2012.
Alongside its vehicle showcase, the Ford stand will feature an array of interactive displays that help to highlight the smart technologies of the all-new Focus.
The 8th Vietnam Motor Show runs from Sept. 26 to Sept. 30 at the Vietnam Exhibition and Fair Center, Hanoi.
