MANILA, The Philippines – On a night filled with the tinkling of champagne glasses and the dulcet tones of renowned Filipino baritone Jack Salud, Manila's A-list gathered at the posh Manila Polo Club to get reacquainted with Ford and its "Business Class" offerings.
About 50 guests from the city’s top-tier social and business crowd attended the black-tie event on November 4 – called “An Evening with Ford” – and had a chance to interact with the new Ford Expedition EL and the new Ford E-150 Club Wagon during the cocktails and sit-down dinner.
Both vehicles were launched to the media earlier in February this year using an airline theme set in a very affluent lounge akin to those of First and Business Class airlines. The media were especially amused when Ford executives turned up in pilots’ uniforms. A similar VIP Business Class event was held for the A-list crowd to likewise launch the premium offerings to them.
Not only do the two models boast of state-of-the-art features and business-class amenities, but they also have wide full-sized cabins.
The Expedition EL also grew bigger by 14.8 inches to provide 24 cubic feet of cargo space.
And both top-of-the-line vehicles would not look out of place on the driveways of Manila’s "It" crowd, going by the guests at the get-together and early Christmas celebration.
Hosted by prominent society journalist Johnny Litton, the dinner was a way for Ford executives to touch base with the country’s crème de la crème. Ford Group Philippines president Rick Baker and Ford ASEAN president Dave Alden also took some time to highlight Ford’s presence in the Philippines and around the world.
