BEIJING, China— The Ford Edge has had a flying start to the Year of the Dragon by winning awards from two prestigious magazines.
Boasting a bold new design guaranteed to turn heads and amazing in-car technology, the SUV was welcomed in to the Lunar New Year by being named February's "Car of the Month" by Leon (China), a high-end, men's lifestyle magazine, and "2012 Best Car Selection" by Car Market Guide, a popular auto magazine with one of the largest circulations in the country.
Besides its tough, American-style exterior, rave reviews were given to the SUV's driver assistance and convenience technologies, including MyFord Touch, AdvanceTrac®, and BLIS®.
"Edge is a vehicle with character, a typical SUV made by American auto maker," wrote auto columnist Zhang Di, "yet what makes Edge stands out are the technologies that Ford put into this car."
"The touch screen is very convenient. I believe the MyFord Touch system has integrated all the information that a car and its driver need," he added.
Zhang's view was shared by Car Market Guide, which described the SUV as a "concept changer" when it gave the Best Car Selection title to Edge.
"We used to think that American SUVs were supposed to be rough, powerful and big until Edge showed up. It blends delicate interior design with many industry-leading technologies."
"If you are a dreamer, try Edge," said Zhang Di.
