 A Ford Baby Shower

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

MANILA, Philippines — In celebration of Mother's Day in the Philippines, Ford hosted a special “Ford Baby Shower” workshop for parenting bloggers and expecting mothers that helped to highlight the safety features of the all-new Ford Focus.

The event started with a brief presentation by Anika Salceda-Wycoco, Communications Manager at Ford Philippines, about Ford’s Pregnancy Suit – called the Empathy Belly – which is always an attention grabber at similar events across the region.

The Empathy Belly is a multi-component, weighted garment that allows Ford engineers to gain a realistic understanding of the demands imposed by being pregnant.
“Our Ford engineers use the suit to really help them understand some of the issues pregnant women face, such as awkwardness in body movements, postural changes, shifts in center of gravity and limitations,” said Salceda-Wycoco
“This provides invaluable learning that the engineers can apply to respective issues when designing vehicles like the all-new Focus,” added Salceda-Wycoco.
The workshop also covered topics relevant to mothers, including driving safety tips as well as child safety seats, as well as a vehicle demonstration and test-drive with the all-new Focus, allowing media invitees to experience for themselves the class-exclusive safety features, such as Active City Stop.
A cooking demonstration with guest participant and sous chef, Jacq Yap, provided everyone with tips on how to make quick and healthy meals, with a special focus on eating healthy while pregnant were also imparted to the attendees.
His hands-on demonstration included how to make a California Maki Roll, and allowing the media to test their own cooking skills.
“Last year, I joined the Focus Refuel for Mother’s Day—it was me and my mom. This year I’m joining another Ford event, a baby shower in celebration of my 3 month old baby. What great timing and most of all it was something that I could relate to,” said Lacar Perlas (On the Ford Baby Shower – Celebrity Moms)
“This is an interesting topic! I know how it feels to drive when you’re eight months pregnant.” – Noemi Dado (On the Ford Baby Shower – Aboutmyrecovery.com)
