HERMOSILLO, Mexico – Last week, automotive media attended the launch of the 2010 Ford Fusion at the company's Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly Plant (HSAP). The launch highlighted standout features of the 2010 Fusion while offering journalists the opportunity to tour HSAP and test drive the sedan.
Overall, the Fusion's modern design and high performance impressed attendees, with many declaring the sedan one of the best in its class. Journalists also noted the new Ford Fusion's extended lineup that includes the all-new hybrid and sport models.
The Fusion Hybrid offers class leading fuel economy, besting the Toyota Camry hybrid by at least 6 mpg in the city, and the innovative new SmartGauge™ with EcoGuide that assists hybrid drivers on maximizing their fuel economy.
Additionally, the media remarked on the high quality of interior materials and its high-tech appeal. New technologies that set the Fusion apart from other midsize sedans include class-exclusive features such as Ford SYNC™, Ford Interactive System™ (which includes navigation system) and Sony-branded audio set among other technologies.
The event also provided an opportunity for the media to tour one of the company's recently updated facilities. HSAP has received recognition for its commitment to high-quality vehicles, the most recent awards are the "2009 Vehicle Dependability Study" for the Lincoln Zephyr from J.D. Power and Associates and the rating of the Ford Fusion as the "Most Reliable Car" by Customer Reports.
In addition to the 2010 Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid, the Mercury Milan, Mercury Milan Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ also will be built at HSAP.
