DEARBORN - Today, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the moving assembly line; the innovation that forever changed the global vehicle manufacturing industry and had a significant and lasting impact on American society.
Henry Ford’s initiative in applying the moving assembly line to vehicle production was just one of many bold moves that lead to the enduring success of Ford Motor Company.
Over the years, continued innovation has remained key to Ford’s manufacturing process. New technologies and improved practices are constantly tested and implemented to ensure Ford delivers top-quality products as efficiently and effectively as possible, while also reducing the impact production has on the environment.
Ford’s manufacturing facilities have come a long way from the early days at Highland Park Assembly and what better way to showcase that progress than in looking at those plants today.
The map below/above includes all of Ford’s North American Manufacturing facilities. As you mouse over each location, a photo from inside the plant will appear. Click on each plant photo for more information on its operations, how it has evolved over time and what its contribution to production will be well into the future.
