As a teenager in the 70s, I was in the thick of things for street/drag and autocross racing.
It was a great time to be teenager (other than the Vietnam War).
Boss 302s, Mach 1s and Falcons were plentiful while cruising on Telegraph Road in Southeastern Michigan.
I guess that is where I got my performance DNA.
Fifty years later, I still have the desire for cars that turned my blood Ford Blue.
Although not complete this Mach 1 represents the days I grew up in.
My project started out rough as most Mustangs that have lived in Michigan do, but slowly I am bringing it back to life.
I stand corrected this is not a Mustang, but a T5.
This Mach 1 was exported to Germany.
Ford could not use the Mustang name plate in Europe do to a trucking company already having the name patented.
As you see on the front fender, it does not have the Mustang script rather the T5 badge with Ford lettering.
Ford built this car the first time, and now I will build it the second time.
I am going to keep the 351 Cleveland/4-speed top loader as the powertrain.
