What Can You Do to Save a Life Today?

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

Here are two ideas:
#1 Everyone that drives, can start by using their seatbelt every time they are operating or riding inside a motor vehicle. It just makes good sense and it does not cost a dime.

#2 Anytime you are operating a motor vehicle or bike, do not use your cell phone for texting. It just doesn't make sense and you never know what accidents you may cause from taking your eyes off the road just for a split second.

I know, you’ve heard those rules of the road and you understand it all…well I tend to understand those rules even better now.  Here is my story:

Last Tuesday, I was heading home after work and traveled all the way to my subdivision. As I waited to turn left onto my street, a driver of an SUV was not watching the road and rear ended my car at 43 miles per hour. My vehicle was pushed forward and entered emergency mode, which automatically contacted 911 (thanks SYNC). When the police arrived, they saw that I had on my seatbelt. The seatbelt saved my life because based on the impact, I would have been thrown out of the windshield.  Fortunately, my children were not in the car with me…they always sit in the third row, which was totally crushed. The damage to my Flex cannot be repaired but I can always get another great Ford vehicle. I’m just happy that I’m able to share my message.

I'm Going Further by using my experience as a lesson to others...SEATBELTS save lives. TEXTING could potentially take a life.   Tell your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors my story and you too can Go Further by insisting that your loved ones ALWAYS WEAR A SEATBELT and NEVER TEXT WHILE DRIVING!
