The Industry Competition Isn’t Just on Wheels … But Also in Track Shoes

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

DEARBORN - The Corporate Cup Relays (CCR) event is a fun filled day of track and field competitions where employees from Ford, GM, Chrysler, AT&T, Autoliv, RedPlum and others vie for the CCR trophy.

The purpose of the CCR is to raise money for charity: Special Olympics (Michigan) and Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter (FFDAS).

This year’s CCR is on Saturday, June 15 at Southfield Lathrup High School. Participation in this event is open to salaried, hourly, agency, retired/alumni and supplier/supplemental employees located at a Ford site.

Morning events include 10k run, 5k run/walk, long jump, high jump and shot put.  The afternoon events consist of various sprint and distance relays (100m – 1600m).

There will be an afternoon break in the CCR action to showcase the skills, heart and determination of the Special Olympics participants in a 100m dash.  Also, there will be representation from the FFDAS for those willing to open up their home to a new cute and furry friend.

Register Now for 2013 Corporate Cup Relays

The Ford team had a five-consecutive year win streak until Chrysler dethroned Ford in 2011. Chrysler repeated victory in 2012.  Ford needs your participation to recapture the trophy in 2013 and raise money for the sponsored charities.  All ability levels and ages are welcomed.  If you have a desire to participate then we have a spot for you on our team.

The cost for the event is $17 (the cost is waived for Ford summer interns) and the registration deadline is Friday, June 7.

If you are interested in joining the Ford team in taking back the trophy just click on the following link: http://x.ford.com/VUYLF. (Note: You may be prompted to confirm you want to proceed to the SharePoint site and/or need to request access to the registration page.  Simply follow the instructions on the screen.)

If you have additional questions please send an email to the Ford Team Captain Derek Kaighin at dkaighin@ford.com or mwccr_teamford@yahoo.com.  You can visit the website for the most current information at www.mwccr.org.
