PRETORIA, South Africa — Little Strivers Pre-school centre, formally known as Ford International Pre-school centre, was an initiative established by Dave Schoch, President, Asia Pacific in 1993 due to the need for a safe, friendly and loving environment for the children of Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa workers. To mark its 20th anniversary a big celebration was held, attended by 380 people.
The highlights of the day included the school’s very first student attending the festivities. Zaqcharya and Jacobeth Mashigo were invited because their child Tshepiso was the very first student enrolled at the school in 1993. Jacob, now 23 year’s old currently attended with his mother and gave a speech on the day.
The reunion was celebrated with a day of barbequeing, fun activities and donations.
Schoch made a contribution to the school in honour of the occasion.
Kids and adults alike participated in jumping castles, sack racing, go-kart rides and there were also performances by students of the school.
A truck load of toys was collected by the Wellness coordinator, Annelie Scholtz and dropped off at the school for the children. Raffle prizeswere given away during the day.
The reunion was a day of fun for all those who attended.
