Ford employees from around Dearborn helped to complete another successful year for Operation Good Cheer. A dedicated group of Ford employees serve as building leaders and volunteers from many sites across Ford including Ford Credit, iTek, PDC, WHQ as well as additional sites. DEARBORN - The IT team member volunteers, committee members and employees with gifts recently filled the iTek lobby with bicycles, wrapped gifts and a feeling of helping others that are in need.
Operation Good Cheer is a program that started over 40 years ago through Child and Family Services of Michigan. The program provides children’s “wish lists” to eager donors to fulfill a child’s Christmas wish. Those working at Ford were able to select a child, purchase the gifts on that child’s wish list (each child selects five gifts) and deliver the gifts in neatly wrapped packages.
The event was a huge success as employees were able to assist 375 children who requested gifts. All gifts were delivered on time, and trucks were loaded as scheduled.
The successful event was especially heartwarming for organizers as they worked to ensure that every child is selected. Deb Brach, who has been organizing the event since its inception, said, “This effort is not about any one person, it is about the people at Ford, coming together to make a child’s holiday brighter.”
The warmth in the room, the smiles from all participants and the holiday cheer are apparent when the gifts are delivered to Operation Good Cheer Co-Chair, Kathy Krawczyk, and her dedicated team of Special Gift Delivery Day Volunteers.

Hats off to everyone who made this event a success including the 2012 Program Sponsor, Vijay Sankaran and the IT and AD Communication teams!
