Ford of Mexico’s (FoM) WoMen Committee, in an effort to contribute to the development of FoM’s employees, organized a personal finance workshop with Consumo Inteligente, MasterCard’s financial education program in Mexico and Latin America, which seeks to help create smart financial habits so consumers can make better decisions with their money. Sofía Macías, one of the spokespersons of the program and author of the bestseller “Pequeño Cerdo Capitalista: Finanzas Personales para Hippies, Yuppies y Bohemios,”  visited FoM and shared with employees of Santa Fe, Cuautitlán, Hermosillo and Chihuahua tips on savings, investment, credit and protection.

FoM WoMen has the vision to promote best practices for the personal and professional development of the employees of Ford of Mexico. Therefore, MasterCard was invited to share some tips with employees so they can achieve their financial goals. Macías explained that in order to fulfill dreams, it is important to follow a savings strategy by defining objectives in the short, medium and long term.

“Put your money to work,” said Macías during the conference while giving some advice on investments. She also said it is important to read the newspapers frequently and reward yourself when you are on the right track to achieve your goal in order to be motivated to continue. During the Q&A session, Macías answered many questions from employees and signed copies of her book.

Marisol González Ortega, director of the Legal Area and chair of the committee, gave the opening speech and invited the attendees to participate in the activities organized, in order to achieve excellence within all members of the company.

Committee members want to provide tools that help all employees achieve their goals. It is never too early or too late to learn how to save money to finance your dreams.
