WINDSOR - On June 9, a sunny Sunday walk wasn’t just a normal stroll as it marked the annual Windsor/Essex County JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Walkathon in LaSalle, ON. The Windsor Site Ford Team celebrates this annual occasion as a finale to their six month fundraising efforts.
From the months of January through June, every year the Ford Windsor Site JDRF Team dedicates this time as an active fundraising period solely for JDRF. From plant BBQ’s to a golf tournament, the employees around the site, once again dig deep into their pockets to support JDRF.
Not only did the Ford Team walk the 5 km course, a Drive One 4UR Community event, hosted by Performance Ford, took place on-site. For each test drive, Ford donated CDN $20 per drive. A total of 150 people got behind the wheel, which raised an additional $3,000 for the cause.
As a tremendous outcome, the Ford Windsor site total donation was $67,100.00. This was $17,000 over the 2013 goal.
Congratulations to everyone at the Windsor Site on this achievement.
The cheque presentation from the Ford Team to JDRF took place at the Walkathon. The total amount of money raised from all walkers at this event this year was $186,000.
The Ford Windsor Team is proud to be, once again, the No. 1 corporate contributor in Windsor.
Well done Ford Windsor Site, your dedication and generosity clearly shines through this campaign!
