ROME, Italy – Ford Driving Skills for Life has got off to a flying start in Italy with a bumper crowd attending the first training sessions in Rome last week.
More than 270 young drivers were given free, hands-on safer driver training by specialists instructors at Autodromo Vallelunga ACI.
Hundreds more have signed-up for a second round of training sessions which will take place at the Autodromo di Monza in Lombardy on Wednesday and Thursday.
Ford Driving Skills for Life expert instructors provide hands-on training covering the leading factors in young driver car accidents: hazard recognition, vehicle handling, speed/space management and distractions.
Training has already started in the UK and will launch in German, France and Spain before the end of 2013. Ford is investing €1.5 million in the first year of the scheme in Europe, which also offers an online web-based Driving Skills for Life Academy, reaching out to thousands more young motorists.
