MELBOURNE, Australia – The team at Ford Australia has been busy collecting books, toys and food to help make Christmas a little more festive for the disadvantaged in the community.
The Ford head office has participated in a Toy and Book Appeal to aid The Smith Family – a national, independent children’s charity which Ford supports through the Ford Employee Charitable Contribution Scheme.
The Smith Family this year aimed to deliver more than 43,500 toys and 29,000 books to disadvantaged children around Australia. To support this, Ford Australia has also provided two Ford Territory’s to the Smith Family which they are using ahead of Christmas to pick up and deliver presents throughout Victoria.
In addition to this, the Ford Customer Service Division collected around AU$500 worth of food, which will be used to help eliminate hunger during the Christmas period.
In a formal presentation in front of FCSD workers, Stephen Kruk, general manager, FCSD presented the donated food to Fiona Healy, partnerships, fundraising & marketing manager, Foodbank Victoria.
Foodbank Victoria is an independent charity that aims to deliver nutritious, healthy food to individuals and families experiencing hardship.
They provide food, emergency relief and support programs to Victorians through a network of more than 600 community organisations and local resource centres.
