MELBOURNE, Australia — Ford Australia continues to deliver on the Go Further brand promise by supporting the victims of the bush fires that devastated Tasmanian some three months ago by donating the use of two Territory vehicles to the Red Cross. These vehicles have helped on-the-ground teams provide relief to those affected by the disaster.
Ford Australia’s support has helped The Red Cross assist thousands of Tasmanians since the February fires devastated homes and property in regions around Sorrell, Dunalley and Murdunna located on the South East Coast of Tasmania.
The use of the vehicles over a 2-month period has assisted thousands of Tasmanians by providing personal support, first aid and food in seven relief and recovery centres. Over 442 homes have been outreached by Red Cross representatives.
The Red Cross has provided registration and support to more than 3,000 people who were forced to flee their homes and the Red Cross are committed to providing personal support for bushfire affected people.
Ford Australia has a long history of supporting The Red Cross in times of crisis. Ben Allsop from The Red Cross said “Ford’s support has made an enormous difference to the lives of thousands of Tasmanians. Once again, we thank Ford for the compassion they’ve shown. Your support has made a real difference to the lives of people who have suffered unimaginable tragedy.”
