I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your help in facilitating the valuable training received by fire crews from Witham at your Ford Dunton Site on the 7 and 14 December 2012. I am fortunate that Simon Falzon is an employee of both our organisations and was instrumental in setting up this training.

This is a good example of the benefit of building local partnerships with the businesses in Essex and one that on this occasion was of great benefit to the crews who took part.

It is vital  for the safety of the communities we serve, that as vehicle technology evolves in driver/passenger protection, our techniques, skills and equipment evolve on the same trajectory to enable safe and speedy extrication of casualties following the many RTC’s that we attend on the roads of Essex.

For obvious financial reasons, fire service crews are not often afforded the luxury of working with new vehicles along with the associated new vehicle technologies and so I cannot emphasis how important this experience has been.
