DUBAI, UAE – For the first time, America’s favourite van will be seen on Dubai’s roads as part of the Dubai government’s fleet of ambulances.

Al Tayer Motors, Ford’s importer-dealer in the United Arab Emirates, delivered five 2014 Ford E-350 and one F-450 Super Duty vehicles, converted to state-of-the-art ambulances, to the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS).The E-350s were converted into ambulances by Horton Emergency Vehicles in Ohio.

Boasting a 5.4L Triton V8 engine with four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, the Ford E-350 also carries Ford’s key standard safety features such Advance Trac® with Roll Stability Control, second-generation driver and passenger airbags and safety seat belts.

Martin Penny, general manager, Ford Sales, Al Tayer Motors, said, “The Ford E-Series and F-series commercial van line up has a strong heritage of durability and dependability in the United States. In the UAE, we are pleased to offer E-Series and F-Series vehicles to our customers, fitted out as per their exact requirements. In the health care sector, Ford is gaining ground given the perfect track record and performance of the 68 ambulances delivered to the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) in 2008. We also provide the best after-sales support to our customers to ensure that their operations run smoothly.”

Thierry Sabbagh, Ford Middle East director of Sales, said, “We are pleased to see the DCAS adopt the E-Series and F-Series to reinforce their ambulance lineup. E-Series have been America’s best-selling van for 31 years, and they have been out on the roads for more than 50 straight years, supporting Ford fleet customers no matter what their needs are.”
