CHONGQING, China — Nancy Smith, senior R&D manager at Changan Ford Automotive (CAF) Technology Development Center, has recently become the first international employee of the company to receive the “2012 Chongqing Friendship Award”, the top honor granted to an expatriate expert by the Chongqing government.
Sponsored by the Chongqing Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, the award is intended as recognition of foreign experts’ outstanding contribution to the economic and social development of Chongqing.
“The growth and development we’ve observed in Chongqing over this short period of time has been absolutely amazing,” Smith said at the award ceremony. “CAF and its engineers will continue to produce high quality and fuel efficient vehicles that better serve local customers’ needs.”
