BUDAPEST, Hungary – Ford Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford, has donated $10,000 USD financial aid to help rebuild a village in Hungary severely damaged by floods this summer.
Dunabogdány suffered devastating damage when rivers burst their banks during the flooding. More than 60 Hungarian Ford employees helped to fill sand bags and build defensive works in the region at the time.
Ford Fund decided to provide $10,000 USD financial aid for the restoration works in the village of Dunabogdány after reading about the Ford volunteers work in @Ford.
Viktor Molnár, the regional director of European Direct Markets and Hungary said: “We are exceptionally happy and proud that the volunteer efforts by our colleagues have directed the attention of Ford Motor Company Fund to the critical situation in Hungary, which had developed in the beginning of the summer, leading to their offer for financial help in mitigating the effects of the floods.”
The mayor of Dunabogdány, Gyula János Pályi, thanked Ford Fund for the donation and said the money will be used for restoration works in the poorest part of the village.
