Ford Daventry Goes Further to Give Back to the Team Who Helped Their Colleagues through Kidney Transplant

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

Andy Sheppard gave up one of his kidneys to help fellow Ford Daventry colleague Paul Hornberger when a transplant was needed.

In tribute to the medical team who helped them through their recovery period (Northampton Renal Unit), the whole of Ford Daventry has gotten behind the great cause by holding a Great Tomato Growing race!

Thirty tomato plants have been purchased by Daventry individuals or teams including departments such as the CRC, Parts Customer Liaison, Supply Chain and Purchase, Post & Copy Teams and the Depot boys also!

The aim of the competition is simple: the plant which yields the most tomatoes by the end of September 2012 is the winner!  Donations on each plant are being taken and the lucky winner will be announced when the competition closes. All proceeds will go to the Renal Unit in Northampton.

I have organized the event and reckons it's a fantastic way to raise money and build office morale.  The team spirit is fantastic and the longevity of the competition means that there is something new to talk about each day!  We are lucky to have such a great team here in Daventry and to give back to the team who helped our colleagues through such a difficult time.

Happy growing!
