WOODHAVEN, Mich. - Three Woodhaven Stamping Plant (WSP) employees were recently selected to star in a Ford commercial that airs during the new reality show “Stars Earn Stripes.”
Mike Lewis, Mike Woolman and Garrett Eastridge were all picked to share their military and civil service experiences for the commercial. Lewis served in the Navy, Woolman worked on tanks as a contractor for the military and served as a police officer in Centerline, Mich. for the last 15 years, and Eastridge served his community as a volunteer firefighter. In fact, they are all certified firefighters and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) at WSP.
“Being in the commercial was a lot of fun,” Lewis said. “I liked how the company used actual Ford employees instead of actors.”
As members of the ERT, they are responsible to react to any emergency situation that occurs on plant property. They have training in how to handle fires, propane or gas leaks and acid or other hazardous material spills. In addition, they have training in extrication and search and rescue situations.
“There is a large number of WSP employees that serve as volunteer firefighters or have military experience,” Woolman said. “I feel honored to be able to represent them in this commercial.”
The commercial highlights and thanks employees who served in various branches of the military and in civil service roles. The 30 second advertisement acknowledges the employee’s service and emphasizes how they Go Further at work, in the community and for our country.
