DEARBORN - Chip Campbell, a Diversity and Inclusion Award winner, has positively represented Ford and the Ford Veterans Network Group (VET NG) by establishing relationships with the company’s Human Resources and Recruiting groups in order to align those departments with veterans transitioning to the workforce.
Campbell has established contacts with the Hiring our Heroes program and led a team from the VET NG to represent Ford at several veterans’ job fairs in the Detroit area. Last year, he coordinated a visit to Ford by a group of students from the University of Michigan who were conducting a study for veterans transitioning to the workforce. Campbell has maintained relationships with the University of Michigan, Student Veterans Association and was the guest speaker representing Ford at the University of Michigan Student Veterans annual fundraising dinner.
Additionally, Campbell worked with Ford Recruiting to establish a selection process for qualified veteran applicants to Ford salaried positions. He worked closely with Recruiting representatives to connect applicants to hiring managers. Campbell also successfully managed a process that followed up with veteran applicants who applied online and coordinated efforts for the referral of candidates from the Michigan State Veterans employment assistance office. He additionally coordinated meetings with Ford Human Resources and Recruiting to establish future metrics for tracking veteran applicants involved in the hiring process.
Through Campbell’s efforts, the company has hired qualified veterans in every department and component of Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Credit Company. The level of diverse skills, leadership ability and wealth of global experience that veterans bring to Ford is invaluable to the future success of the company. He has established many professional connections with local military veteran organizations and has been a positive representative for marketing Ford products to veterans and their families.
Campbell has shown a sincere desire to assist others and to ensure that Ford benefits from attaining the best talent that America has to offer and providing opportunities for veterans and their families.
