LUANDA, Angola – Angola’s first Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center officially opened for business April 1.
Operated by the Robert Hudson dealership, the $2 million, 1,500 square-meter facility in Luanda’s city center has eight service bays, a car wash and a retail center that carries auto parts, lubricants and other items. “These facilities are equipped to service up to 550 customers per month, namely 25 cars per day,” says Robert Hudson Managing Director André de Castro Pinheiro.
The Ford South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa teams joined local dignitaries and government officials at the grand opening celebration. Ford South Africa Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Service Mark Kaufman commended the dealership for recognizing the need for a quick service facility and for meeting that need. “Robert Hudson has made a significant investment in Ford in Luanda with this facility, and we are very proud of what they have accomplished here.”
Kaufman said he’s confident customers will appreciate the benefits and quality service standards of Quick Lane.
Quick Lane’s factory-trained technicians service all vehicle makes and models, and customers are never required to make an appointment. The service centers have extended hours and provide routine vehicle maintenance, such as oil and filter changes, and light repair services, including mechanical, electrical and tire replacements.
Also attending the grand opening was Angola Secretary of State for Land Transport José João Kovíngua, who congratulated the dealership on its economic development contributions. “The country has seen a huge development in infrastructures, namely roads, and it’s time to improve the current automobile park. Investments like this one contribute to better and safer vehicles on the roads.”
There are more than 800 Quick Lane facilities operating worldwide, and it is one of the fastest-growing service brands in the world. Pinheiro says the dealership’s goal in opening the service center is to give customers a convenient location to bring their cars and provide them with a high-quality service experience.
The Robert Hudson dealership has been in business since 1926 and employs more than 250 people at multiple locations. Pinheiro says the Quick Lane facility brought 20 new jobs to the city, and the dealership plans to continue growing. “Robert Hudson/Ford is already present in nine provinces of Angola and will open in three more by the end of 2014.”
