Three Decision Navigators Again are Available to Help Medicare Salaried Retirees with their Health Care Choices
Decision Navigators provide information and guidance for salaried retirees who are required to possibly change insurance plans for 2011, may be considering a switch for either health care or financial reasons during the upcoming Nov. 15-Dec. 31 Annual Enrollment Period, or are reaching age 65. Peer Support recommends checking with at least two of the three Decision Navigators that Peer Support and Ford have approved. Salaried retirees also can talk directly with health care insurance companies or their authorized local agents to collect information for making an enrollment decision.
Transition Assist opened an office in Dearborn and will hold meetings on the 2010 Health Care legislation and 2011 planning for retirees Oct. 27 and Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Dearborn Centennial Library across the street from Ford World Headquarters. Details are available at http://www.transitionassist.com or by calling 734-507-1061 to reserve a space or make an appointment.
Extend Health was Ford's initial vendor and has therefore handled the largest number of enrollments. Hewitt's Senior Educators presently specializes in individual enrollments instead of working under contract with large companies.
For further information, check the Peer Support website at www.ford-umbrella-group.org.
