As anticipated, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to address several aspects of the 2010 Affordable Health Care legislation in the current term. There will be four separate issues considered covering five and a half hours of oral arguments probably spread over two days in March. Whatever decisions are made will be announced at the end of the court's term in June and would be expected to have considerable bearing on the elections.

Ford Wins NHRA Manufacturers Cup Behind 'One Ford' Team Effort; Continues Year of Celebration
It's official: Ford Motor Company has won the 2011 NHRA Manufacturers Cup award – its first since 1982 and the second earned by Ford’s iconic Mustang model in a major racing series this year.
Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing, accepted the award during the NHRA Full Throttle Series banquet in Hollywood, Calif. Monday, once the final points were tallied.

Silverstone Appointed Chief Operating Officer of Ford Motor Credit Company
Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Credit Company today announced that Bernard Silverstone has been appointed chief operating officer, Ford Motor Credit Company, and has been elected a Ford corporate officer, effective Jan. 1, 2012. Currently, Silverstone is president of Marketing and Sales for Ford Credit.

Ford's European Sales and Market Share Up In October
Ford vehicle sales and market share in its traditional 19 European markets rose in October, boosted by continued strong performance in key markets such as Germany and the UK. Overall, Ford gained market share in 15 out of the 19 traditional Western
European markets.
Ford’s total vehicle sales in October rose by 4.7 percent to 95,800, resulting in a market share gain of 0.5 percentage points to 8.1 percent. In contrast, total industry sales in Ford’s traditional 19 European markets fell by 1.1 percent.

Ford Develops World’s First Digital Child for Virtual Crash Testing
Ford is developing one of the world’s first digital human child body models as part of a pioneering program to make car travel safer for young people.
Building a digital model is no simple task. The work on Ford’s adult human body model took 11 years to complete. Digital models are used in research, not in vehicle development. They don’t take the place of crash dummies, which measure the effect of forces on the body. Instead, they are used as a way to understand how to further improve restraint system effectiveness through better understanding of injury mechanisms.
