Ford U.S. April Sales Up; As Gas Prices Rise, Fuel-Efficient Products Help Grow Ford Sales Across the Board
Consumer demand for Ford's fuel-efficient vehicles continues to grow, with April sales increasing 16 percent versus a year ago and year-to-date sales up 16 percent – totaling 686,498 vehicles.

Ford offers 12 vehicles that lead their sales segments in fuel economy, including four vehicles with EPA-certified 40 mpg or higher ratings – a claim no other full-line automaker can match.

Cars
Ford dealers have two all-new small cars in their showrooms that are resonating with consumers. For the second month in a row, sales for Ford's new Fiesta eclipsed 9,000. The all-new 2012 Focus also is selling briskly. Focus sales totaled 17,265, up 22 percent versus a year ago.

Ford Sales Increase 9 Percent in April; Best April Since 2000
Ford of Canada saw sales increase 9 percent compared to the same period last year, marking the best April in 11 years. Strong car sales delivering a 33 percent increase in April helped to drive Ford sales to No. 1 in Canada with positive results from fresh new vehicles like Fiesta, Ford's popular compact car, posting its best month ever.

Full-sized trucks have also experienced record-breaking sales this month, powered by F-150's all-new V6 EcoBoost engine which offers better payload and towing than comparable V8 engines with up to 20 percent better fuel economy. Almost half of all F-150 customers are choosing the EcoBoost engine showing customers are definitely focused on fuel economy as they purchase big trucks in Canada.

Mustang Boss 302 Wins High Performance Car of Texas
It's been more than 42 years since Ford management gave its engineers the green light to build a special performance car that became the 1969 Mustang Boss 302. It remains one of the world's most sought-after examples of American performance.

This year, Mustang enthusiasts are celebrating the return of the Mustang Boss as members of the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) named the "High Performance Car of Texas." Every year, TAWA hosts a car challenge at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) where automakers are invited to submit their vehicles for test drives by the group of automotive journalists. Hands down, the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 was a favorite at TMS.

2012 Cobra Jet Mustangs Go Home with Enthusiastic New Owners
Last month, AutoAlliance International (AAI) in Flat Rock, Mich., welcomed Ford Racing and 17 Cobra Jet owners to celebrate the new 2012 Cobra Jet Mustang produced at the site. The goal was for the 2012 Cobra Jet to improve on the power and performance of the 2010 version that broke class records and captured wins on drag strips across the country.

Enthusiasts traveled from all over the country to take home their new Cobra Jets and they plan to show that enthusiasm in more ways than one. Some hoped to place their Cobra Jet at car shows, others just wanted a new toy and others planned on taking the Cobra Jet where it belongs ... on the race track.

Ford and Green Festival Give Organizations a Chance to Make a Difference with Community Green Grants
Ford and the Green Festival have teamed up to find and fund the most innovative projects to improve the environment in five U.S. cities. The Community Green Grant program challenges organizations and individuals to propose impactful ideas that would improve the environment in their local communities prior to the start of a local Green Festival. Attendees at the Green Festival in each city will vote to select the project proposal that will receive the U.S. $5,000 Community Green Grant.

Before each event opening, a panel from Green Festival and Ford will select a group of Community Green Grant finalists from among the proposals submitted. During the Green Festival, the finalists' project proposals will be presented in the Ford Pavilion, with the winner of the Community Green Grant chosen by a vote of festival attendees.

Retiree Gary Mueller
1 Million and Counting: Ford Retiree Hits Mileage Milestone Traveling Coast to Coast in His 2002 F-350 Super Duty
People told Gary Mueller that he should probably think about getting a new truck when his 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty was nearing 300,000 miles.

That was more than 700,000 miles ago.

Today, Mueller says he has no plans – or reason – to retire the truck, even though it now has more than 1,020,000 miles on the clock.
