Sue Cischke Retires After 11 Exemplary Years with Ford
Sue Cischke, group vice president, Sustainability, Environment and Safety Engineering, retires this week after 11 years of dedicated service to Ford Motor Company and an extensive 35-year career in the automotive industry.
And though she is looking forward to spending time in the Florida sun playing golf and tennis, enjoying the company of family and friends and catching up on some much-needed sleep, Cischke says she is leaving Ford with fond memories.

New Year Begins with Solid Sales Month
January was a solid sales month for Fords U.S. small cars, utilities and trucks, with exceptional growth in two segments that are particularly hot right now – small cars and utilities.
In the small car segment, sales of the Ford Focus were up 60 percent in January versus last year and Focus contributed to 30 percent of Fords overall sales growth for the month – more than any other vehicle in the Ford lineup.

Ford Continues to Recover with a Positive Outlook for 2012
What a year, said President and CEO Alan Mulally as he opened up the Global Town Hall to discuss fourth-quarter financials at Ford World Headquarters.
Closing out 2011, Ford improved the total company pre-tax operating profit, automotive operating-related cash flow and had a significant profit contribution from Ford Credit.

In 1921, auto pioneer Henry Leland was forced to sell the automotive company he had formed with his son Wilfred.
Named in honor of President Abraham Lincoln, the Lelands had set up the Lincoln Motor Company in 1917 to build aircraft engines for the Allies.

Ford to Slash Landfill Waste and Cut Water Consumption
Ford Motor Company has committed to making massive cuts in the waste it sends to landfill, as well as the water it uses, across its European production. The company said it will significantly increase the proportion of waste recycled and reused by cutting landfill waste by 70 percent. That means a reduction in the average landfill waste generated per vehicle to 1.5 kg by 2016 from 5 kg in 2011.

Ford Launches Production of Focus with 1.0-liter EcoBoost
The Focus powered by the 1.0-litre EcoBoost® engine began rolling off the assembly line this week in Saarlouis, Germany.
The Focus 1.0-liter EcoBoost 100PS offers class-leading economy of 4.8l/100km (58.9mpg) alongside CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. The turbocharged, direct injection engine also is available on the Focus in a 125PS version that returns 5l/100 km (56.5 mpg) with CO2 of 114 g/km.
