On August 22, 2013, the Sterling Axle Engineers, along with employees from other Ford sites, spent the day working at the Detroit Zoo planting trees and plants on and in a newly built containment wall that was erected by the zoo personnel. The weather was perfect and it truly was a wonderful Model T Volunteer Action Work Day!
They worked hard planting, digging and spreading compost dirt while being watched over by the black and brown bears. The team had such a great time working and watching the animals. Employee Steve Stark had the pleasure of throwing apples to the bears to munch on provided by the zookeeper.
The Team is looking forward to volunteering again at the Zoo Boo on October 31. Ford Employees are encourage to volunteer at least 16 hours a year on approved Model T Volunteering Projects. If you are interested in volunteering go to www.volunteer.ford.com
