During the month of June, the I4 team completed the PV (process verification) engine builds for the 2.3L (Explorer) and 2.0L (Lincoln MKX) engines.
Previously, built 2.3L (Mustang) PV engine testing has been completed and engine tear down and analysis is currently being performed.
The purpose of the PV engine testing is to prove the robustness of the new engine assembly process. Additional engine builds will occur after summer shutdown. These TT engines will be installed into vehicles and used for drive tests. The TT vehicles are saleable products.
TT and PP engine builds will continue in the 2nd half of the year for the 2.3L 2.0L engines.
The 1st engine Job1 is scheduled for December, 2014. Rate of Climb will begin in the 1st quarter of 2015.
