OAKVILLE, ON - It was another successful Global Week of Caring at Ford’s Oakville Assembly Plant (OAP) this year. Thanks to everyone who donated and to those who volunteered to make this event a success.
The site collected an overwhelming number of school supplies, backpacks and games, as well as more than CD$2,000 in monetary donations! The United Way agencies are extremely grateful for the collection and are thrilled to donate these supplies to local children on behalf of OAP. Multiple agencies received the generous donations this year.
The school supplies shown in the picture accompanying this story were donated to the Lighthouse organization. Lighthouse provides peer support groups for grieving children, youth and their families in the Halton and Peel area. The Lighthouse is a forum for companionship with others who are also learning to cope with the loss of mother or father, brother or sister.
OAP continues to be ambassadors for the United Way, and sincerely thanks everyone for their generosity. In supporting the local community, OAP is empowering the next generation to fulfill their full potential and become future leaders.
