DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the single innovation that had the largest impact on manufacturing, industry and society as a whole: Ford’s moving assembly line. Not only did the moving assembly line drastically increase the pace at which Ford vehicles were produced, it also drove down the price of each car making them more accessible to the masses.

Dearborn Stamping Plant (DSP) is still utilizing Henry’s concept of the moving assembly line. Here is a Then and Now snapshot of DSP as it has transitioned over the past 74 years.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the moving assembly line, Ford went inside its manufacturing facilities to document the fast-paced and efficient assembly lines producing some of the world's best vehicles. Constructed from more than 24 hours of time-lapsed views inside Ford's Michigan Assembly and Dearborn Truck Plants, Ford showcases the face of manufacturing today and tomorrow. Take a look below at the footage!
