On June 28-29, an Erickson S-64F Aircrane helicopter flew over LTP in conjunction with the current construction project headed by Walbridge. The successful airlifts included the helicopter performing a total of 115 material lifts. This included the setting of four sets of grillage steel and two air conditioning units onto the plant’s roof. Grillage steel is the steel structure that the new air tempering units rest on.
The helicopter “Sun Bird” was able to safely and successfully set two new air handling units as well as two additional grillage steel sets on top of the roof. Look for an upcoming video of the operation to be posted to the TV text monitors soon.
The result of the project is that the entire plant floor will eventually be air-temperate, providing more comfort for employees during the hot summer months.
