Earlier this month, Deloitte and Interbrand named Ford #1 in the Best Global Green Brand (BGGB) rankings
, up from #2 in 2013 and #15 in 2012. For the first time in the report’s four-year history, Toyota drops to #2. According to the report and press release, Ford claimed the top spot due to increased transparency and disclosure of performance information, particularly in the area of manufacturing operations. “With new environmental action committees in place, improved employee engagement around sustainability, better water/energy/emissions intensities, enhanced green build policies and increased waste recycling, Ford claims the #1 position in this year’s Best Global Green Brands report.” This is external recognition of the Ford team’s collective efforts on stakeholder engagement and achieving best in world performance in line with our environmental strategic direction and Creating Value Roadmap. Thank you to everyone in manufacturing and environmental functions for making this possible.
