Flat Rock Assembly Plant joint leadership are pleased to announce the former Mazda Specialization Center (MSC) building has been rebranded to something with a little more bite.
The building is now known as the Cobra Center, which houses the UAW-Ford Learning Center, Body Shop South, and the axle, wheel and tire shop.
“This allows us to take pride and ownership in a building that has become essential to our daily operations,” said Assistant Plant Manager Gary Polakowski. "With the addition of Body South and the new wheel and axel shop, the Cobra Center is an example of our commitment to insource work where it is competitive to do so. The Cobra Center is vital to keeping the high quality our customers have come to expect.”
More than 400 team members will be working out of the Cobra Center, the southern-most building of the FRAP complex, starting this summer.
“The cobra emblem has become synonymous with Mustang and is representative of its history,” said Tim Young, plant manager. “Carroll Shelby and his iconic Cobra took the Mustang to new heights almost 50 years ago and this is our way of honoring that legacy.”
