In 1995, Rodney Ladrigan—Electrician on 3rd shift—and his wife Beth gave birth to beautiful twin girls, Erika and Emily. The girls – who were born five weeks premature – became the focus of Cincinnati's March of Dimes in 2000. The twins received a large amount of support from the community, and several years later, they began to pay it forward.
In 2009, Erika and Emily – along with friend Adrianne Lanyi – started Creating Smiles for Kids: An organization whose goal is to brighten the lives of terminally ill children. Funds raised through this organization are used to purchase toys for patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
The twins have a younger brother, Joshua and a younger sister, Samantha who are also very involved. And they can all agree that raising money for this organization is something they'll continue to do for many years to come.
"It's rewarding to know that we help brighten the lives of children experiencing rough times," said Emily. "The feelings we get when making someone's day are almost indescribable."
