Beginning Friday, April 4, after 7:00 p.m., ramps and interchanges
will close, and starting Saturday, April 5, the full freeway is
scheduled to close for a 7-mile stretch between Newburgh Road and
Telegraph Road. Additionally, one lane will close on Schoolcraft Road

During the period of full closure, both directions of I-96 traffic will be detoured to alternate routes, including
I-275, I-696, M-10 (Lodge) and M-39 (Southfield Freeway).
The project, which is expected to last for six months, will allow
crews to reconstruct the freeway, repair overpasses, and upgrade
It is recommended that during the first couple of weeks, employees
test or choose alternate routes and learn to gage their new commute
