A Special Message: 100th Anniversary of the Moving Assembly Line
Monday, October 7
To: All Chicago Assembly Plant Employees
Subject: Media Event
On October 7, 2013 Ford will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the single innovation to date that has had the largest impact on manufacturing, industry and society as a whole: Ford’s moving assembly line. Not only did the moving assembly line drastically increase the pace at which Ford vehicles were produced, it also drove down the price of each car making them more accessible to the masses.
We are happy to announce that Chicago Assembly Plant will be hosting a group of local media to celebrate this milestone anniversary on Monday, October 7.
There will be two events taking place on Monday:
· 5:00am – 7:00am: WBBM-TV (CBS) will be broadcasting live from the final area
· 10:00am – 12:00pm: Plant tour for local media
Due to the high customer demand of our vehicles, production will continue during this time.
The privilege of hosting local media presents Chicago Assembly Plant with the opportunity to show the pride of every member of the Chicago family.
We would like to thank you in advance for demonstrating your professional presence and dedication that has ensured Chicago’s success. We look forward to making our guests feel welcome and exemplifying our ONE Ford behaviors.
